Introducing the Faculty
The Faculty of Economics, Business and Management was established as the Institute of Economics by Executive Decree No. 89/140 dated August 1, 1989, which established the University of Setif. It was transformed into a faculty by Executive Decree No. 04 -251 dated December 2, 1998. The Faculty of Economics, Business and Management currently consists of a common core and four departments, namely: the Department of Commerce, the Department of Economics, the Department of Management, and the Department of Finance and Accounting, in accordance with Ministerial Decision No. 2005 dated 2016, supplementing Decision No. 401 dated October 31, 2012.
The main tasks of the faculty:
The main tasks of the faculty in the field of higher education are as follows:
- Formation of the necessary frameworks for the economic, social, and cultural development of the country.
- Teaching students research methods and promoting training through research and for the sake of research.
- Contributing to the production, dissemination, acquisition, and development of science and knowledge.
- Participating in continuous training.
The main tasks of the faculty in the field of scientific research and technological development, in particular, are as follows:
- Contributing to the national efforts in the field of scientific research and technological development.
- Promoting and disseminating national culture.
- Participating in supporting national scientific capabilities.
- Valuing research results and disseminating scientific and technical information.
- Participating within the international scientific and cultural community in the exchange and enrichment of knowledge.
